WEALTH; you can and will achieve things you did not think possible
A woman in Canada, on average, earns 70% of what a man earns in the same profession. A woman in Ethiopia, on average, earns little or nothing and raises her children on an average per person income of $160 per year.

Maureen Fritz-Roberts has been a small business owner in fields typified by poorly paid female workers and large salaries for men, where she has helped her workers overcome the wage differential. She has also been active in helping women in Ethiopia to get access to small loans so that they can make enough money to feed and educate their children and potentially break through the poverty barrier.
You will want to hear Maureen's inspirational message about how both groups can overcome the reluctance to take a risk, for an opportunity at a better life.
Maureen spent 15 years helping the women she worked with to take chances. She worked with them to set high goals and to see themselves reaching them.
When Maureen became involved in an insurance agency she discovered that her mostly female employees, many as heads of households, were receiving close to minimum wage. Those meager salaries were keeping their families at a near poverty level.
Maureen will talk about how she helped those women to see themselves as competent professionals, first by offering an education program, then worked with them to deal with the natural inclination amongst women to avoid risk, to establish a pay grid based on performance.
One woman set a goal to increase her salary by 200% in five years. At the end of year 4 she had reached that goal. When Maureen asked her how she felt about her accomplishment, the woman's reply was "I never thought I would even get close to this income figure. I just set that goal to make you happy."
That statement was one Maureen never forgot. It proved that if you are constantly working with someone who wants you to succeed, you can and will reach new heights. You can and will achieve things you did not think possible.
You will want to hear Maureen's message about the impoverished women of Ethiopia. There are no safe large employers. They cannot borrow money in their country. They have to overcome the fear of failure and the risks of a small enterprise. Yet when they find someone who puts trust in them, who will give them a micro credit loan, they work to achieve the goal to be successful in their venture. And 98% of them succeed.
Sunitayahu is an Ethiopian woman with three children still alive and no husband. She came to Addis Ababa as a refugee from Eritrea. She was living on the street until the opening of the Rotary Village, when she was allocated a two-room, concrete block, tin roof, home with a small yard. Sunitayahu was ecstatic with the roof over her head but her worries were not over. How was she to pay for the water and the electricity?
That is when the Rotarians responsible for the Rotary Village came through with a small loan- a pittance by our standards- a few dollars that she used to plant vegetables and buy others wholesale to sell from a small stall at the corner of her property. Now she pays her bills and sends her children to school. That is the power of a small loan in an impoverished country.
When Comox Rotarian Maureen Fritz-Roberts met Sunitayahu and other women like her last year in Ethiopia, she was inspired to go back to those villages where Rotarians are providing clean, safe water and institute a micro-lending program. You will be amazed by what a few dollars can keep on doing.
Maureen Fritz-Roberts brings passion and energy to her presentation. The world can be saved, one woman and one small loan at a time.

FIERCE ANGELS; a passion, power, and potential talk for women

Anita Roberts introduces the concept of cultivating our own FIERCE ANGEL - a part of us that can transform the energy of shame and anger, free us from the fear that keeps us small and teach us to experience the power of grieving. The Fierce Angel is the part of us that is dedicated to the power of truth and to the protection and nurturing of our core-self.
With passion and a playful spirit, Roberts will invite her audience to access their truth and unearth their full potential. She will talk about emotions and the body: anger, shame, fear, grief and how these heavy feelings weigh us down when we get lost in the stories attached to them.
Roberts says: We must learn to listen... listen to the body. Listen to the breath. And listen to the voice of the Fierce Angel, which will tell us when to say, no.
In learning to speak our truth we are making a profound transformation of self. When we speak the truth about our lives, we can begin to feel our passion, release our creativity and manifest our potential. We can honor the past for what it has taught us and we can be in the present with a softer heart. We can feel the wind in our hair, a smile on our face, open our arms to the future and fly.
Anita Roberts is the founder and guiding force behind the internationally acclaimed, SafeTeen Program. She has been working in the field of violence prevention and women's empowerment since 1976. In 1985, Anita was chosen as a Canadian representative on Violence Against Women to the United Nations.

We must pour ourselves into ourselves with all the fierceness and love we spend so freely on others." - Anita Roberts (2002)

HEALTH: Run for Joy

For over twenty years Lucy has pursued a career in running and triathlon, a career that has created opportunities for personal growth, travel and a wide range of life experiences. This engaged path has allowed her to gain valuable insight into what sustains a commitment to personal excellence, good health and well being.
If I hadn't discovered the way to infuse my running career with joy - gratitude for my experiences and what I can envision - I would have stopped in frustration years ago. Over time my career has come to mean less about winning and external rewards and more about the path to learning, friendships, life priorities and celebrating pure human potential through the medium of running. (Lucy Smith)
From being the sole female track and field runner at high school and dealing with negative female athlete stereotypes in sport, to the inequalities in the competitive world, Lucy has overcome many barriers in her dream to being an athlete. Using stories and humour, Lucy shows how her lifelong dedication to athletic excellence has had a positive impact on her personal development as a woman, and shares her understanding of the important difference between our dreams and goal setting. She illustrates the concepts of having clear priorities and intentions and how misguided fear of the unknown is usually the main barrier standing between people and their potential.
Lucy points out how acceptance of the realities of disappointment and failure are powerful learning tools on the path of personal success and how having right attitude attracts people who assist you in developing vision and purpose in your career. Sharing some of the highlights of her extensive competitive career, she reaffirms how the principles of true friendship, self belief, unselfishness, love and quality work can be found in following your passions.
Lucy Smith has been a professional runner and triathlete for 20 years. She is a 2 time World Championships Silver medallist and a 19 Time Canadian Champion over a range of endurance events from cross country running to marathon and Ironman triathlon. Currently in the late stages of her career, she is recognized as a sport leader, coach, and role model for women in sport. FREEDOM: The Art of Receiving
Every one I know works hard to make ends meet. Some make more than others. Some have amazing lifestyles, and some of those are not happy or are not healthy. The law of Attraction is always at work in our lives, whether we are consciously directing it or not.
If you have seen the "What the Bleep" movie and "The Secret" you are aware and may even be working with this principle. I have been working with Spiritual principles for over twenty years and I do believe in the power of positive intention and that energy flows in the direction of our attention.
The unique gift that EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) offers in combination with the Law of Attraction is the release of the baggage of the past. If we just focus on the positive, as if our old pain, fear and doubt doesn't exist, we are simply avoiding it and our progress will be slow as we drag the weight of past decisions along with us.
I created The Art of Receiving to empower my self and my friends and clients to release the past and achieve immediate results from the power of intention. The vehicle we use to create our reality is Thought, and the fuel for that vehicle is Emotion, as in any vehicle, it goes much faster if the handbrake is off. Our fears, doubts, and past decisions are the brakes and EFT can release the brakes on your creative power.
Emotional Freedom is the ultimate and most basic freedom we can have, anything is truly possible when have let go of the brakes, when the unconscious and the conscious mind are congruent and in agreement. These astonishing results are achieved in a loving, humorous and safe environment led by Andy Bryce an EFT Master from Vancouver, BC.
Andy brings a wealth of personal experience and humor to his presentations. With his unique ability to clarify issues and impart practical information in an entertaining way, his listeners feel encouraged and excited about achieving the level of change in their lives that he has experienced in his own.
Clients report seeing immediate and lasting results as well as feeling understood more than ever before because of Andy's clear instructions and high level of acceptance and compassion. Andy's warm sense of humor makes any time with him an enjoyable and beneficial experience. |
